We are committed to providing healthcare providers in South Carolina with research that can positively impact patient outcomes. We offer all our students individual advice and access to the latest technologies.

Our history has a huge impact on the health of South Carolina. Our school, founded in Colombia in 1973, pioneered the medical curriculum to integrate ultrasound technology. We have achieved great success in training doctors focused on rural health, and our research students regularly receive large national grants and postdoctoral positions.
  • Our clinical partners
Our partnership with Palmetto Health has increased the number of specialties and physicians available to both partners. Our students benefit from access to education specialists through medical education, housing and scholarships. We also have strong partnerships with the Dorn Veterinarian Medical Center and the Greenwood Center for Genetics and the Department of Mental Health in South Carolina, which provide our students access to clinical and research opportunities.

Accreditations


Our degree programs enjoy a high reputation in their fields of expertise. Each program works hard to meet and exceed all accreditation requirements.

Master Program

Full M. D program is accredited by the Medical Education Liaison Committee of the American Medical Association and the Association of American Medical Colleges.

Biomedicine

The biomedical science program is fully accredited by the Medical Education Contact Committee of the American Medical Association and the American Medical College Association.

Genetic advice

This program received the adoption of the American Board of Genetic Advice in 2000 and re-accreditation in 2006. More recently, the adoption of the Genetic Advice Council re-adoption of the program for a maximum period of eight years 2014-2022.

Anesthetist

Physician Assistant

Granted PA-setting the ARC Provisional Approval for the Doctor's Assistant program at the University of South Carolina Columbia sponsored by the University of South Carolina at the Faculty of Medicine.

Accreditation - Between the case of accepting the scholarship is when the plans show the allocation of resources, when fully implemented as planned, the program proposal does not yet indicate student records of the program ability to show the ARC-PA standards or fair To become, if a quotient program accreditation seems, is that the temporary status appears continuation of progress in terms of compliance with standards in preparation for the completion of the first grade (group) of students.
The preliminary accreditation does not guarantee subsequent accreditation. Limited to a maximum of five years high school. USC PA was approved by the USC Board of Trustees in December 2015 and by the South Carolina Higher Education Committee in May 2016.

Temporary follow-up visits will be made to programs that have successfully completed preliminary accreditation. You do not have to be rechecked as four months later after the student enters the clinical phase of the program no later than six months after completing the first series. ARC-PA reserves the right to request a prior verification visit. Students enrolling during the temporary accreditation may apply for a Certified Medical Assistant (PANCE) exam.
